AMC has renewed the Seth Rogen-produced drama for a 13-episode third season to debut in 2018, it was announced Thursday.

 Dominic Cooper and Oscar nominee Ruth Negga headline the hourlong, which is based on the DC Vertigo comic book written by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Cooper stars as a small-town preacher with a criminal past who comes to discover he has a superpower to make others do what he says.

 The season-three pickup for Preacher comes as Rogen and Evan Goldberg are preparing to launch their second TV effort, the Hulu sci-fi comedy Future Man starring Josh Hutcherson. The streamer will launch the show's entire first season on Nov. 14.
